At the lovely town of Lodève we enjoy the interesting festival of mediterranean literature “Voix de la Méditerranée”. There are dozens of events every day. We listen to three poets reading on a bridge over the shallow river Soulondre. People can sit on so called “fauteuils flottants”, inflated inner tubes of trucks’ tyres, getting wet on their backside, but that does not matter as water and weather are warm.

Lodève has it’s oriental side also in gastronomy: We eat lunch in a small arab restaurant “La Chamelle”. We already feared to get no place there, but the boss brought a table, put it into a shadowy spot and added two chairs. The meal was delicious.

Afterwards we walk through the streets, visiting bookstands, gallerys and two other lectures of mediterranean poets.
